It's the end of this a'Mazin month with the boys watching The Huntsman Winter's War. A prequel/sequel to Snow White and The Huntsman, but without the snow white part (Kristen Stewart). Mazin apparently had a lot of fun writing a film filled with knock off fairy tale tropes, awful goblin designs and dwarf jokes about their women-folk's appearance. A relatively new director, Sophy Romvari, puts out a semi-auto biographical banger about growing up with a "strange" sibling. The movie plays with memory, time and audience perspective an a refreshing and controlled way. This movie blew up on Letterboxed in a big way and it's Canadian, so it felt like a good chance of pace from the previous films we did.The movie is about a Hungarian immigrant family with the POV being 8-year-old Sasha and her adult self reflecting on those memories. What's real and what's not real?
