Ep 163: Exploring Language, Disability, and Human Design Beyond Labels with Etai Nahary
In this week's episode I had the pleasure of speaking with Etai Nahary, a communications coach and disability advocate with a fascinating background in languages, literature, and psychology.
Key points we discussed:
1. The power of language in shaping our reality and perceptions, especially around disability and inclusivity.
2. Etai's perspective on reframing the concept of "disabled" and "able-bodied" to "disabled" and "not yet disabled."
3. The importance of normalizing conversations about disability and human fragility.
4. How Human Design and Gene Keys can be used as tools for self-understanding and empowerment, without becoming limiting.
5. The danger of over-identifying with labels or categories, whether in Human Design or other aspects of life.
6. The concept of "both/and" thinking and holding seemingly contradictory truths simultaneously.
7. The value of changing our personal narratives to feel better in the present moment.
Etai shared his journey of creating "Etai's Corner" as a space to use his diverse skills and experiences to help others. His insightful perspective on disability, language, and personal growth offers a fresh way of looking at how we categorize and understand ourselves and others.
Remember, as Etai beautifully put it: "Change your story, change your life." Focus on finding a better-feeling story in this moment, because that's all we truly have.
