A player I work with had been on a knockdown shot for a week and was thoroughly fed up with it.
So I asked her a question with no golf in it at all. When you meet someone new, do you trust them straight away?
She said no. Nobody does.
That is a new shot. You spend time with it, in a few different situations, and somewhere in all that you find out what it's actually like. Most players do the opposite. They learn it on the Tuesday, take it into a tournament on the Saturday, it doesn't come off, and the shot gets quietly dropped. Or they never test it at all and it lives on the range forever.
Neither of those is a problem with the player. It's a problem with the pace.
Ettle is the app in this episode. It's what tells her that week was a Build week, and what shows her a month later that she still hasn't put any heat on that shot. It opens properly in October.
