In a world that tells our girls to "trust their feelings" above all else, how can we teach them to discern truth from deception? Join hosts Rachael Culpepper and Natalie Ambrose for a rich, Spirit-led conversation on growing discernment—the ability to recognize God's truth, resist deception, and make wise decisions rooted in faith.

Rachael and Natalie explore the difference between simply following our instincts and tuning our hearts to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Drawing from both Scripture and real-life parenting moments, they unpack how discernment is more than a gut feeling—it's a trained skill that develops over time through prayer, Scripture study, and a deep relationship with Christ.

You'll also hear from Patti Garibay, American Heritage Girls Founder & Executive Director Emeritus, as she shares a powerful Raising Godly Girls Minute, reminding parents to equip their daughters to spot Satan's subtle lies before they strike. Together, the hosts offer practical tools to help parents nurture girls who are both aware and anchored—unafraid of the world's deception because they are grounded in the Word.

By the end of this episode, you'll be encouraged to create intentional rhythms of prayer and conversation at home that help your daughter discern what's true, what's eternal, and what's simply noise. When she learns to slow down, listen, and seek God's wisdom first, she'll become a young woman confident in her calling and courageous in her convictions.

Three Key Points to Remember

  1. Identity forms discernment. A girl who knows who and Whose she is becomes less vulnerable to the world's deception.

  1. Discernment takes practice. Like a muscle, it grows stronger through consistency, clarity, and Scripture-guided reflection.

  1. Prayer anchors discernment. Prayer is not passive—it's a weapon. Teach your girl to pray for wisdom and spiritual alertness daily.
