DODGERS POSTCAST: Dodgers rally with 2 in the 9th Teoscar Hernandez with the walk-off single

Will Smith hit 3 home runs 2 of which were on the first pitch the 3rd of the night ties the game at 5. The dodgers would rally in the bottom of the 8th  loading the bases for Freddie freeman who poked a 2-2 breaking ball into center field scoring 2 to give the Dodgers the lead 7-5. Teoscar Hernandez would add a little insurance with a double to left scoring Will Smith  who had walked to make it 8-5. The bullpen was stellar after Tyler Glasnow went 6 giving up 5 runs on just 3 hits striking out 7 , the bullpen tossed 3 clean innings on just 36 pitches.

The Dodgers once again could not get Christian Walker out as he hit another pair of homers his 19th against the Dodgers and 9th in 9th games this season. Dodgers scraped across 2 in the 4th to make it a one run game on a jam shot flare from Austin Barnes.  That would be as close as they got, as Shohei Ohtani struck out 3 times and Freddie Freeman was 0-4  The Diamondbacks were relentless with 2 outs scoring 8 of their 9 runs with 2 down. LA has now dropped 4 of their last 6 

It was a blowout loss for the Dodgers on Wednesday as Gavin Stone struggled and continued the bad stretch of starting pitching for the team. Offensively, it looked like a great night in the 1st inning but then the Dodgers did nothing else after that. The one bright spot of the game came in the booth as Mookie Betts joined the crew for a few innings and provided some great insight. Freddie Freeman hit his 13th homer of the season in the first to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead it was followed by a Teoscar Hernandez HR but that would be it for the LA Offense. Christian Walker continues to thrive on Dodger pitching in LA launching 2 long balls tonight his 16th and 17th at Dodger Stadium in his career. Gavin Stone had an off night going on 3 giving 4 runs on 7 hits as the Dodgers lose 12-4.

Down to their last out in the bottom of the 9th, the Dodgers rattled off three straight hits to walk off the DBacks in the series opener. Teoscar Hernandez got the winning hit but Will Smith and Freddie Freeman helped get it to him. It was a fun win in a back-and-forth game with Arizona. Also, Shohei Ohtani had a big game and is now officially on Triple Crown watch in the NL. Can he do it? Lastly, Bobby Miller was better but still not great. Can he find it again? The Dodgers blew two leads including a 4-3 advantage that came after a mammoth blast to center from Shohei Ohtani for his league leading 27th home run. Then in the 9th after the Diamond backs tied the game, former Dodger Joc Pederson laced one down the line for his 11th homer of the season to give the D-backs a 5-4 advantage. On to the bottom of the 9th...Gavin Lux struck out looking Shohei Ohtani struck out swinging but Will Smith clutched up doubling off of the wall and Freddie Freeman doubled him home to tie the game and the Teoscar Hernandez wasted no time singling home the game winning run for his 3rd hit and 3rd rbi of the game as the Dodgers walk it off.

With a day off for the Dodgers, the guys talked about some players that could be available at the deadline and there's a lot of former Dodgers on the list. Would Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, Yimi Garcia or Kenley Jansen make sense back in Los Angeles? The answer was pretty much no across the board but are there any of their teammates that could move the needle in a trade? James Paxton got off to a bad start and never recovered giving up a career high 9 runs on 12 hits. The Dodgers waved the white flag shortly after the Giants jumped out to a 9-0 advantage in the 4th. Shohei Ohtani had a very rare quite day going 0-5 with 3 K's Chris Taylor Homered to get the Dodgers on the board but it was way too little way too late. 10-4 the final

The Dodgers pitching was a concern over the weekend in San Francisco but maybe not a concern for the regular season. Tyler Glasnow and James Paxton both had terrible starts that put the bullpen in a tough spot. Is there a bigger worry about the pitching when it comes to the postseason?
