Labba Labba Podcast - Episode 11 - Veronica Magnani

The guest of the twelfth episode is Global Bob, a Jamaican dancehall dancer who keeps the genuine old school and middle school vibe in his dance and who is a true ambassador of the dancehall culture worldwide. He received numerous awards thanks to his talent, hard work and professionalism. We talked about his journey, he described what is the essence of dancehall and expressed his opinions and views regarding controversial dancehall topics where cultures are clashing. Bob introduced his project Dancehall Therapy and his plans for the future. He also described his experience with taking part in the process of creation of the song and the music video "Can´t Stop Dancing" by Elephant Man.

The eleventh episode is featuring Veronica Magnani, a dancer, a chef and most importantly, a mum of beautiful children, that is from Copenhagen, Denmark. As this episode is Mother's Day special, we talked about the connection between dancing and motherhood. Veronica also told us about her and her husband's cooking project focused on Jamaican food and about her participation in Masterchef Denmark. And of course, we couldn't skip talking about her dance journey.

The tenth episode is featuring Facu Vera Ramirez, a dancer and a DJ that is coming from Santa Fe, Argentina. Currently located in Barcelona, Spain. We spoke about his dance journey and the group One Love Inna Di Place. Facu gave us an insight into how he usually trains and how he applies these methods in his mentorship project. He told us how he feels when taking part in a battle and what is behind his success in such contests. Facu explained what style in dancing means to him and discussed how to reach uniqueness in dancing. We also talked about his journey into DJing and his experience with Jamaica.

The guest of the ninth episode is Jazziie, a dancer based in Leipzig, Germany and the creator of the dancehall notice board Dancehall Ketch Up! Jazziie talked about her journey, the Watch Mi Step group and the dancehall scene in Germany. We discussed her biggest dancehall projects - Dancehall Ketch Up! and Queens Time to Shine. Jazziie shared her experience with travelling to Jamaica in covid times and how she felt in Jamaica. We also spoke about where to find authentic information about dancehall.

The eighth episode is featuring Sanjay, a Jamaican recording artist who is operating a guest-house Belleh23 and who is also leading his Belleh23 vlog. Sanjay described his journey in the entertainment industry.  He told us about his process of creating songs and finding inspiration. He was speaking about his projects - Belleh23 guest-house, online classes at Belleh23, Dancehall Mecca and Old School Wine documentary. He expressed his opinion about the division of dancehall into old, middle and newschool. He was also talking about the dancehall acceptance in the Jamaican society and how dancehall changed over the time. For those who are trying to get better in understanding Jamaican patwa, Sanjay gave few tips to follow.

In the seventh episode, you will get to know Vivi Gabel, an educator and a dancer located in Peru, Lima who is also a member of Team Xqlusiv. Vivi described the dancehall scene in Peru and the folk culture of Peru in the society. She spoke about how she got into dancehall, about her journey to Team Xqlusiv and how she feels the old school period of dancehall. We discussed why it is important to study all aspects of dancehall and how to deal with the pressure on gaining all the knowledge. Vivi also introduced her research project on dancehall.

The guest of the sixth episode is my dear friend Mikaela Gyals Unity. A multitalented person who deeply fell in love with the dancehall culture. Besides being a versatile dancer, her other passions are dogs and singing. Miky spoke about her dance journey and about projects that were important to her. We talked about inspiration and what to do to not feel burnt out. We also discussed her love for singing and dogs. Do you want to know how it feels to shoot a video for Sean Paul or to dance in a big TV show? In the fifth episode, you will get to know dancehall culture supporters and multitalented persons Azi from the Czech Republic and Veronie from Slovakia, both of them currently living in Jamaica. Azi and Veronie talked about moving to Jamaica, setting up a business there and cultural differences. We also discussed how to motivate yourself to work out and the girls introduced their projects.

The fourth episode is featuring a Ukrainian dancer, Katrin Wow. Katrin was speaking about her dance journey and described the dancehall scene in Ukraine. We talked about her participation in Juste Debout contest, discussed the sources of inspiration and Katrin´s experience in Jamaica.

In the third episode, you will get to know a Malaysian dancehall dancer Yan who is located in Kuala Lumpur. She described the dancehall scene in Malaysia and in Asia in general and discussed the acceptance of dancehall in wider society. We also talked about expressing our personality and feminity in dancing and how to free ourselves up when dancing.
