Xbox Series X Reviews: One Month Later

Cyberpunk 2077 has been out for just over a month and we’ve (finally) gathered reviewers from IGN, Gamespot, and Skill Up to talk about what we thought of the Cyberpunk 2077 launch, how our feelings have changed since reviews dropped, and what we hope to see from the Cyberpunk and CDProjekt Red in future. 2020 was an incredible year for games! That's why we invited our friends from Gamer Tag Radio and Gameranx to join us and talk about their picks for the best Game of the Year. We even staged a bit of a friendly debate to let each person champion or defend their choice! Here, we've got Jake Baldino from Gameranx talking about Half-Life: Alyx, Danny Peña of Gamer Tag Radio to talk about Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and our very own Nick Limon to talk Hades!

Now that we're a month into the Xbox Series X run, we've gathered reviewers from IGN, GameSpot, and Bloomberg to discuss if the new Microsoft Xbox Series X console is living up to the hype. The hardware certainly shows a lot of promise but a lack of first-party support isn't doing Series X any favors. The Review Crew is a weekly show where we gather folks from all over the gaming community to discuss the biggest reviews. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is an incredible companion piece to Spider-Man 2018, but how does it fare as its own standalone story? We got reviewers from IGN, Mashable, and Kinda Funny together to discuss! Miles Morales is Spider-Man in this all-new chapter of Marvel’s SpiderMan universe. Play as the young Super Hero as he masters his dynamic new powers. When a war between Roxxon, a devious energy corporation, and The Underground, a hi-tech gang, threatens his new home of Harlem, Miles will learn that with great power also comes great responsibility. To save the people he loves and all of Marvel’s New York, Miles will have to take up the mantle of Spider-Man and make it his own.

The PlayStation 5 is upon us and Demon’s Souls has returned to collectively inspire and frustrate us. The Demon’s Souls remake is every bit as astonishing and brutal as we expected and The Review Crew is here to talk about the highs and lows of arguably one of the best PS5 launch games. IGN’s Demon’s Souls review is live, and this review discussion brings together Mitchell Saltzman of IGN, Tamoor Hussain of Gamespot, and Steve Saylor of Can I Play That? to discuss the Demon’s Souls remake, what makes a remake work, and the accessibility of one of the toughest FromSoftware games.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is here and The Review Crew is talking about Ubisoft’s biggest game of 2020. Now that AC Valhalla reviews have been published all over the internet, we got a few of our colleagues together from Polygon and DualShockers for a lengthy review discussion. Guests this week include Nicole Carpenter (Polygon), Cameron Hawkins (DualShockers), and Brandin Tyrrel (IGN). This particular AC review roundtable takes a focused look at at some key aspects of our AC Valhalla Review, and looks beyond the IGN review to swap notes on the Polygon review and the DualShockers review.
