📖 Section Covered: Part 1, Chapter 4 Subchapters 3-10 📢 Episode Summary: We continue into the palaver about what Eddie and Jake saw in New York, including the legal agreement Sombra has with Tower for the vacant lot. They figure that Tower is drowning and the vacant lot is likely one of his last assets so when the agreement runs out in a month and a half it is unlikely he will refuse whatever offer Sombra gives, and since Sombra is hiring Balazar they seem less than scrupulous. Susannah says they should buy the lot themselves and reveals she is rich, so if they can get to 1964 get some of her money, go to 1977 and buy the lot from Tower they can ensure The Rose is safe. Roland then tells them they are making the doors sound common and they are exceedingly rare, he had only seen the ones they had seen and he had been on the Tower journey for over 1,000 years. Also they not only want two doors but ones they can aim at specific time periods which none of what they have seen before has that kind of control over where and when they go. Then Callahan, who approached midway through their palaver, chimes in he might be able to help. He tells them in brief  what the town is facing and that they might have an uphill battle to convince them, which Roland is firm he will not convince anyone, that is not his role. Then Callahan offers them what is under the floorboards of his church, the thing that sent Eddie and Jake todash, Black 13. When he goes to get the rest of the group to talk to the gunslingers Roland asks if they think he is honest, they all do. They recognize the name of one farmer as an author Tower mentioned when Jake encountered him. Then when Jake takes out Charlie the Choo Choo the author is no longer listed anywhere in the book, the name Beryl Evans has vanished from it entirely. 💬 Join the Conversation: 📫Email: [email protected] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/darktowerpalaver/ Twitter: https://x.com/DarkTowerPod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/darktowerpalaver/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/darktowerpalaver.bsky.social Threads: https://www.threads.com/@darktowerpalaver Support the Show:  Patreon: https://Patreon.com/DarkTowerPalaver

Roland is taking this trip down memory lane trying to remember what he was taught about Todash. Then we are back a bit further back in time from where we were last episode and we see Roland awake and sees not only Susannah/Mia leave camp but he also sees Eddie and Jake essentially blink out of existence, he follows Susannah not sure if the boys will even come back as Todash is very dangerous. We then follow Mia but from Roland's perspective and not Mia's and we see what the Banquet Hall she was seeing actually is, a bog. We also see the things she is eating; frogs, bugs, and swamp rat. Roland plays out the arguments of Eddie when he eventually tells him about this (assuming he acttually comes back). He sees the rest of her feeding ritual and goes back to camp covering his tracks, and to his great relief the boys are back. Mia came back and laid down next to Eddie. When they wake up in the morning he tells the boys that they phased out, they say they need to Palaver about what they saw. 📢 Episode Summary: In the latest Round Table Tadd and Peter have a tidal wave of Carrie stuff to talk about. San Diego Comic Con had a full fledge panel for Flanagan's series. They released the first trailer and there have been a number of articles that really give us a good sense of what this series is going to be and how different from the novel it is going to be. There were also a few 'First Look' articles previous to the trailer with a lot of good images and stuff not in the trailer so the boys break it all down along with speculating what the show might be. Also Desperation is getting a movie and upsettingly it seems Flanagan might be tied to a Prime Video Warhammer project....  ⏱️ Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 7:43 News 1:48:59 Odds and Ends 1:52:15 Emails 02:00:36 Outro 📋Shownotes: darktowerpalaver.com  💬 Join the Conversation: 📫Email: [email protected] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/darktowerpalaver/ Twitter: https://x.com/DarkTowerPod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/darktowerpalaver/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/darktowerpalaver.bsky.social Threads: https://www.threads.com/@darktowerpalaver Support the Show:  Patreon: https://Patreon.com/DarkTowerPalaver 🎧 Listen On:  Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/49EbMdlEh12KkoZrStdEGw?si=4e94ed6fa6494a6e Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dark-tower-palaver/id1046304469 Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/2a086ee6-e9bb-4e70-9d4e-b29d012fcfb0/dark-tower-palaver Audible: https://www.audible.com/podcast/Dark-Tower-Palaver/B0BNWJCBNY?source_code=ASSGB149080119000H&share_location=pdp #️⃣hashtags: #TheDarkTower #StephenKing

📖 Section Covered: Prologue  📢 Episode Summary: In the first episode of a brand new book, Tadd and Peter dive into Book 5 Wolves of the Calla. In a first for this series we start the book with someone other than Roland or our Ka-Tet. We find a farmer named Tian Jaffords in a cursed part of his field. He is working his very tall but simple-minded twin sister. A robot named Andy comes and Tian guesses (correctly) he is bringing news of the Wolves, they are coming in 30 days. He is distraught, so too is his wife who was watching their 5 children, two sets of twins and a "singleton" and Tian wonders if it is time to say no to the wolves. We also see his wife has a large simple-minded twin, and they have a "Grand-pere" living with them. He calls their town together, their town is so small there is not even a sheriff let alone any sort of leader, and many show up including eight Manni and a late-coming stranger. They debate standing up against the Wolves. We learn they have been coming for six generations (give or take) and they take one of the two twins from age 3 to puberty and the one they take comes back "Roont" empty of mind and large of body. We also find out that twins are the norm here and "singletons" are rare and coveted because they are safe from the Wolves. The Wolves come every 20+ years or so. It is not overly going Tian's way, the folks appealing to reason are winning the day, but finally the later-comer speaks up and we find out it is Father Callahan, he of Salem's Lot, and he challenges them all to stand. He then says because they are just farmers and ranchers they should hire some killers and there are four of them travelling nearby along the path of the Beam. Secretly he thinks he can give them the thing living under the floorboards of his church because it has awoken.  💬 Join the Conversation: 📫Email: [email protected] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/darktowerpalaver/ Twitter: https://x.com/DarkTowerPod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/darktowerpalaver/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/darktowerpalaver.bsky.social Threads: https://www.threads.com/@darktowerpalaver Support the Show:  Patreon: https://Patreon.com/DarkTowerPalaver

📖 Section Covered: Part 4 Chapter 4, Chapter 5 Subchapters 1-5, Afterword 📢 Episode Summary: In the final Book Club for Wizard and Glass Tadd and Peter follow the ka-tet into the Grapefruit to see the final chapter of Roland's tragic origins story. Roland goes looking for his mom after his return from Mejis and after he is given his birthright guns. The New Yorkers are "in" Gilead watching. Roland does not see someone hiding behind the drapes. He goes into the bedroom and the Ball is there, the figure comes from behind and the Ball makes him think it is Rhea holding a snake, he turns and fires and only sees a fraction of a second after pulling the trigger it is not Rhea but his mother holding a peace-offering belt for him. Rhea appears in the Ball and taunts him, but then she can seemingly see the New Yorkers as well and tells them to cry off, he has killed everyone he has ever loved. Jake goes to detroy the ball and it flashes them out of the vision. They are now miles from the palace, time has slipped and they have travelled 30 miles. They see they are back on the path of the Beam. Roland gives them leave to break from the journey, but they all say they are with him until the end. They ask some clarifying questions about the backstory Roland answers what he can. A note is left from Flagg telling them to cry off. They then take off down the path of the beam.   💬 Join the Conversation: 📫Email: [email protected] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/darktowerpalaver/ Twitter: https://x.com/DarkTowerPod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/darktowerpalaver/ Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/darktowerpalaver.bsky.social Threads: https://www.threads.com/@darktowerpalaver Support the Show:  Patreon: https://Patreon.com/DarkTowerPalaver
