EPISODE 222: "Graduation Day Tragedy": The Murder of Michael McCuen

In a remote area of Aiken County, human remains began being discovered in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The women found were all found in the same condition, around the same age, and of similar heritage. To this day, investigators are still trying to piece together what happened.

A suspicious fire at the home of a beloved neighbor brought about a tragic discovery. No one could figure out who would dare hurt the swwet lady that took care of everyone. That was until the neighbors began to talk to the police.

In 2018, an partially burned abandoned car was found in an Horry County field. A subsequent welfare check led police to the gruesome discovery of an executed father and son. DNA and forensic eveidence brought to light the mystery assailant and the tragic story that was fueled by greed.

In 2015, a Summerville mother of three was easing her way back into the dating scene. What started innocently enough, accepting an invitation to a party, turned terribly tragic.

In January of 1971, two young men hatched a plan to kidnap noteworthy and wealthy people from Bennettsville,SC. Their plan was going well until they picked the wrong house and the wrong man. Their plan was futile but their motives weren't just for ransom. They were looking to make waves on a national scale.

Edgefield County and much of South Carolina was compared to the wild wild west in the 1840's. A political disagreement led to violence leaving two men maimed. A whirlwind romance and marriage between a young Simpsonville woman and an Army Recruiter soon soured due to his penchant for hosting underaged students in their home. After a separation, the wife went missing only be discovered inexplicably murdered. That left one question: Where was her estranged husband?

In the Spring of 2023, a budding romance was in play between a Greenwood man and a separated school teacher. They took great measures to be discreet and respectful in their relationship, but the woman's estranged husband did not see it that way. Things boiled over on a Saturday night in May resulting in a fatal ending.
