“I’m not ready.”

It sounds reasonable. And sometimes it is.

But when you're facing a difficult decision after betrayal, waiting can easily feel like the safe option. You don't have to commit. You don't have to risk making the wrong choice. You can gather more information, ask more questions and keep trying to work out what will happen next.

The problem is that waiting is still a choice.

In this episode, Luke explores the cost of inaction and why the search for certainty can leave you stuck for far longer than you realise.

Because while you're deciding what to do with the next six months, you're living them.

This isn't about rushing into a decision or forcing yourself to stay or leave. Sometimes waiting is exactly the right thing to do.

The important question is whether you're deliberately choosing to wait for a reason, or whether fear is choosing for you.

In this episode:
  • Why inaction is still an action
  • The hidden cost of waiting to make a decision
  • How “I’m not ready” can sometimes mean “I’m scared of choosing”
  • Why trying to predict every possible outcome keeps you stuck
  • The difference between useful information-gathering and avoidance
  • Why absolute certainty is an impossible standard for important decisions
  • How a bad outcome doesn't necessarily mean you made a bad decision
  • The difference between confidence in an outcome and confidence in yourself

If there's something you've been putting off, try asking yourself a different question:

What is waiting costing me?

You may decide that waiting is still the wisest choice.

But put it on the scales.

Because doing nothing doesn't get to sit outside the decision pretending to be free.

It has a cost.

It has consequences.

And it is still a choice.
