On Friday, April 24, 2020 a passerby called 911 to report a dead body laying in a ditch by the side of the road near Noblesville, Indiana. There were no signs of trauma, no identification, no abandoned vehicles, no witnesses, and toxicology reports weren’t much help either... Until they decided to test the stomach contents of David Fouts, that they had a possible cause of death, apparently he'd last eaten bits of poisonous mushrooms. The fungus eventually led to the arrest of David Fouts’ wife, Katrina, and his father-in-law’s caretaker, Terry Hopkins. “The weirdest thing about this case is the mushrooms,” Lockhart said. “The murder was almost perfect. But there’s certain things you can’t get away from. They over thought it. On February 24, 1986, the body of 29 year-old Sherri Rasmussen was found in the apartment she shared with her new husband, John Ruetten, in Van Nuys, California. She had been beaten and shot three times. The (LAPD) initially thought the case was a botched burglary with no suspects.  But Sherri's father believed that Ruetten’s ex (Stephanie Lazarus), was responsible, but was it really that simple? On January 4, 2022, 64-year-old Sheila Fletcher and her husband, Clay Fletcher, found their 36-year-old daughter Lacey dead on their couch. Apparently, for at least 12 years, Lacey Fletcher had been neglected by her parents after becoming basically couch-ridden due to cognitive decline. Lacey had been diagnosed with social anxiety and severe autism. After this, Sheila and Clay abandoned their daughter on the couch to suffer in her own feces even allowing bugs to eat at her body.
