  'I Feel Heard and Understood' The Power of Communicating With Love  | 'ask dorothy'  The WISDOM podcast  Season 4  Episode 84 💜   ~ A Mini Series on The Power of Communicating With Love ~   ~ ~ The power of communication with love is eternal. ~ 💜   When have you truly felt as though someone understood you completely?   For whatever your earlier life experiences have been, know that it is most important for you to first ignite yourself in the experience of your own voice. This happens when you find solace in the moments in which to live in your own presence.   Its when we bring to light our own needs and how we will care for our needs our self that we begin to feel a connection within.   When we feel a need to be heard and understood it can come from a place of not having our needs and desires met. It can be a lack of emotional support or a physical absence of a parent or caregiver or a busy and full household in which our needs and experiences were not validated or deemed important.   When you seek to be heard and understood it is both a natural experience of being in a relationship and it is also driven by a sense of feeling this.   When you look to feel heard and understood in your relationships especially your love relationship, it is a matter of practice the same.   How well are you at listening to your partner – of holding space – of not being reactive rather patient? ~ Listening, present, nonjudgmental.   How well can you rephrase in your own words the messages that you have just heard? How able are you to practice listening and understanding as you are modelling this behavior to them to practice?     Listen without needing to comment. Listen whilst being present and attentive. Open yourself to what you are learning in pure listening and how you communicate with your heart – that you understand your partner’s words and their needs.   Can you practice in the knowing that your partner will learn the same skills that you hold and you can ask for this with kindness and love in return when you practice it whole heartedly.   ~ Living abundant is living life to the fullest. It is about honoring the life you have built and continue to build for yourself. Like a true rebirth it is about cleansing, releasing, stepping forward and out of what has kept you hostage. Your first step of rebirth here is to be aware – be aware of the inner dialogue, how you step into drama situations and the drama of others when really you are looking for peace, calm, equanimity, love and to live your life on a path that is truly best for you.   Persistent trauma related intrusive thoughts are common in individuals with post traumatic stress disorder. Reoccurring drama scenarios can trigger past experiences of trauma and cause anxiety, depression, fear and other debilitating feelings.
