For more than seven decades, this extraordinary recording remained buried in government archives. Now, as part of the PURSUE Tranche 6 UFO file release, the complete 1952 “Flying Saucer Talk” by Captain Edward J. Ruppelt, the U.S. Air Force officer who led Project Blue Book, is finally available to hear. Recorded on March 26, 1952, Ruppelt discusses the Air Force investigation into flying saucers, including credible military and pilot sightings, unexplained cases, activity near sensitive installations, radar observations, extraordinary speeds, and efforts to gather better photographic and scientific data. Despite extensive investigation, a significant percentage of cases remained unexplained. More than 70 years later, the parallels are striking: military witnesses, radar detections, unusual performance characteristics, sensitive locations, limited data, and a persistent percentage of cases that resist conventional explanation. What happens when a UFO sighting becomes something much closer?
