In light of the Christmas season finally being here, we have a special episode for you! This is our first podcast episode in English and our first episode with all three founders of a start-up.
In this episode Jan visits Joana Gil, Daniela Arango and Wienke Reynolds, the three founders from LignoPure. LignoPure is a startup that uses lignin as the base material for cosmetic products. Next to cellulose and hemi-cellulose, lignin can be obtained from biomass (e.g. wood or grasses). It is normally a waste product in bio-refineries that produce bioethanol. LignoPure manages to use it for cosmetic applications and therefore contributes to a more sustainable future.
Joana, Daniela, Wienke and Jan talk about what lignin does and how its properties are being used at LignoPure, about the company’s journey from their InnoRampUp funding to their successful Seed Round this spring, about the Ups and Downs of Startup Life and about the next steps for the company.
