Last month, our stock portfolio earned over $256K . . . but it took a lot of hard work and short-term sacrifices to get us to this point! Christina and I have been financially independent for almost four years. But on our FIRE journey, we focused on saving and investing as much money as we could so that our money could work for us instead of the other way around. This meant cutting back on expenses, avoiding debt, being intentional with our spending, and investing as much money as we could. In other words, it took sacrifice. But, those short-term sacrifices paid off in the long run.
