My guest today is Martin Baart. Martin is the CEO and co-founder of Ecoligo. Ecoligo is a company based out of Berlin, Germany that delivers solar energy solutions to companies in emerging markets, financed by retails investors in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Their solution helps accelerate solar adoption in countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, Chile or the Philippines. They have deployed about €30M in solar projects to date, raising capital from more than 4,000 retails investors, and saving more than 1 million tons of Co2 by replacing traditional energy sources.

We meet with Martin to talk about the drivers of solar adoption by companies in emerging countries, what leads people like you and I to fund solar projects, and how Ecoligo makes money in all of this.

An electrical engineer by training with a passion for tackling climate change, Martin started Ecoligo seven years ago.

The company recently raised a $10M Series A round.

I hope you enjoy my discussion with Martin.
