When I think of a marine ecologist, or a marine biologist, I imagine someone working in nature, scuba diving in search of the most remote marine species, understanding the way the oceans work, and how to save endeangered marine life. I imagine them far away from the bustling city life, and away from stress. Is is the truth? Or is it a myth?I invited Ashlee Lillis to speak about her job as a Marine Ecologist and what it entails.Ashlee has an organisation called Sound Ocean Science. Amanda Schurtz, born in Switzerland and splitting her time between Dublin and Geneva, has just received her black belt in Newaza , Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She is also a member of the Swiss Olympic team. Unlike other disciplines, she has to fund her own sports career, which means, she has a full time job plus a full time training. Let’s hear her story.
