By now, the bloom is beginning to come off the GOP trifecta’s rose, as a lot of people realize that many of the campaign promises will not be fulfilled. Logic would dictate that we focus on primaries, particularly gubernatorial primaries. Yet the same people who complain about the status quo — yet also bemoan the creation of a new party — refuse to get involved in primaries. To that end, we continue our "meet the candidates" series. This time we’re joined by Iowa state Rep. Eddie Andrews (R), who is running for governor. He discusses his leadership role in fighting for property rights against carbon capture pipelines. He promises, as governor, to end all subsidies and favored treatment for green energy. As part of his fight for landowners, he is committed to abolishing property taxes. As for personal autonomy, Andrews has been leading on medical freedom. Andrews is an intriguing candidate because he is one of the most conservative members of the legislature but represents a Democrat district, demonstrating a strong appeal as a candidate.
