Colts at Vikings Week 9 NFL Preview

The Indianapolis Colts are 5 point underdogs to the Minnesotta Vikings. Both the Colts and the Vikings are pretty healthy outside of 1 or 2 players each. This is a strength versus strength, weakness vs weakness matchup. The Colts are going to have to find a way to beat the blitz. How important is Anthony Richardson to the success of the rushing attack? I would not be surprised if Anthony Richardson sees the field a few times this game. The entire offense, including the coaches, (excluding Jonathan Taylor) did not help. Anthony Richardson might just need to be sat for a game or so, to learn how to be a true leader. Too many passing attempts were 20+ yards down field. The Defense played their butts off. Gus Bradley sent blitz after blitz. Dayo Odeyingbo's play was so good, it cost him a touchdown. The Kenny Moore pass interference call was confusing. AR doesn't seem to talk to Joe Flacco much. Is Richardson too comfortable and complacent? The running backs and Anthony Richardson should be able to run against Miami's defense. Their linebackers are very fast. Indy can not turn the football over. The 4th Quarter kept the Indianapolis Colts from going 0-3 in the division. Indy's running game is suffering from a lack of continuity between the backup running backs and offensive line. Indy is running between the tackles too much, and Shane Steichen made mistakes. Joe Flacco took shots downfield, even though they didn't connect. Michael Pittman Jr. made plays when needed, even with his back injury. Rigoberto Sanchez dropped a punt for the highlight reel. Gus Bradley's defense held Will Levis to under 60 percent completion percentage, and under 100 yards. The run defense continues to struggle, giving up nearly six yards per carry. Sam Womack has been a good pickup. Should Indy play more man coverage? Is the defensive line positioning having a negative effect on the run defense? Donald Thomas thinks Laiatu Latu should play 5 technique, and occasionally 3 tech. Final thoughts: A lot of stuff to clean up. Should Joe Flacco continue to play until he begins to fall off?

Injuries playing massive role early in the 2024 NFL season. Indianapolis Colts offense will have to get some familiarity with each other this week. Tennessee Titans Quarterback: Will Levis loves his chunk plays. The Titans statistically have the worst offense in the league. Even if Taylor and Sermon is both out, the Colts need to run the football. The Colts are the underdogs against a 1 win team. The Titans have key injuries on defense. Wide Receiver: Alec Pierce and Safety: Julian Blackmon need to have great games! The defense need to cut down on mistakes, and make the play. The Colts are winless on the road. Predictions: Will the Colts win this game if Flacco plays, lose if Richardson starts?

Now 10 straight losses in Jacksonville versus the Jaguars. The Colts defensive line never got to Trevor Lawrence. E.J. Speed had a let down game, despite having a couple good plays. Jaylon Jones made a couple plays, but got burned too many times. The offense was a bright side to the game, but prayers to Will Fries. Even with Joe Flacco playing well, if the Colts think Anthony Richardson is the future, he needs to play. Flacco had a good day, with Downs and Pittman playing well early. A.D. Mitchell has to catch the ball before avoiding contact! Alec Pierce has developed into a receiving STUD! The offensive line had issues protecting the quarterback, especially Braden Smith. The coaches will be focused on the Titans, as Indy faces another divisional opponent. It's a small world: Tony Sparano Sr. was Donald's coach, and now Donald coaches Sparano Jr's son. The Colts can still make some noise this 2024 NFL season.
