Like so many others, author Heidi Smith found herself unmoored by a confluence of personal and professional trials during the peak of the COVID pandemic. While several familiar and sustaining allies fortified her throughout this time, the most lifesaving of all was a new element that bloomed in her spiritual practice: prayer. Heidi has always had a relationship with prayer, but now that relationship was blossoming into a more liberating, soulful practice. As she sought to deepen this exploration into the ancient truths and wisdom of prayer, she longed for books that supported her journey but came up short. Ultimately, she decided to set out to write her own book presenting an empowering, radical reframing of prayer as a secular tool for healing, personal growth, societal change, and profound joy. In THE UNCOMMON BOOK OF PRAYER, Smith introduces a new definition of prayer: an active agreement that you make between your soul and the Divine (whatever that means to you). It is a sacred practice that can be called upon to bring about states of grace, healing, and change. THE UNCOMMON BOOK OF PRAYER, explores the idea of prayer as a highly personal practice that can bring joy and enlightenment, heal deeply felt trauma, and work toward planetary healing.
