Jesus came back to His hometown but His town was filled with religious people who loved their religion. They didn’t love what Jesus had to say. So, they tried to kill him. Jesus hated religion. He came to release captives. Preach the gospel to the poor. To free those who were oppressed. But for religious Pharisees of the day, those things were unheard of.  They wanted to do something. They wanted to impress people. They wanted people to think they were so religious. But Jesus comes along and destroys that kind of thinking as He was hoping for a heart that would love Him.
