Hence the turbulent waters and wicked storms! I was also teaching wilderness first aid. I taught adventure guides, military personnel, mining companies, Cree first nations groups, and anyone who worked in remote areas across Canada. My job was to teach them how to keep patients alive and survive in the wilderness until they handed them off to definitive care. I thrived in making theory more accessible to learners with simulation-based exercises. I was really good at faking wounds and could have probably become an accomplished make-up artist!
