838 - My Experience with Psychedelics
Over the past five years, I have spent a considerable amount of time researching, investigating, and then using psychedelics as a healing modality to help me process trauma, move my life forward, and become a better husband, father, and CEO.
The experience has been life-changing and invaluable. Up until now, I have not shared a lot of the details of my experience, but last week I was inspired to change that.
In this podcast episode, I shared my experience with psychedelics with a group of 50 entrepreneurs all looking to get to the next level in their business. You will learn about how my life and business has been changed by the power of psychedelics.

849 - Protect Your Energy
15:57For entrepreneurs, it is incredibly important to maximize your energy, engagement, and presence in order to make better decisions and be more productive. The advice commonly given to entrepreneurs, like grabbing coffee and immediately starting work, can negatively impact energy levels and lead to a massive crash, and I don’t just mean in the afternoons. In this podcast, you will learn how to optimize energy and productivity, including blocking blue light in the morning, maintaining your hydration, and going outside for natural light exposure and a walk. Blue light exposure and dehydration creates massive constraint on the body. When you prioritize your energy and well-being, you will see increased productivity and a sense of possibility. 848 - Protect Yourself with Process
9:12I often share with entrepreneurs that process will set you free. What I mean is that process will protect you to the point where you have more protection than you ever have. The more you develop the processes in your business, the more you will create a system that protects your time and focus to allocate them on what will grow your business. The more process you create, the more your team will step up and free you up to focus on the strategic outcomes in your business. In this podcast, I share the system we use to develop process in your business quickly, and how creating process, structure, and routine will set you free to make the impact you’ve always known you should. 847 - The Secret to a Fully Committed Team
14:19As entrepreneurs, we often feel like we need to challenge ourselves to the absolute extreme in order to drive ourselves forward. A goal doesn’t mean as much to you unless its as intense as climbing mount everest. In many ways, this is a superpower for you in your business, but it has a significant drawback. Your team is not wired the same as you. Even if they share your entrepreneurial spirit, as a team member, they see the realities of your business in an entirely different way than you do. I recently shared this concept with a member in our coaching program. In order for your team to be fully committed, you must do one really uncomfortable thing… Pull the target closer. In this podcast, I’ll show you how to create goals that you and your team can achieve together and win. Ready for more? 846 - Microdosing on the Fear of Death
12:54As an entrepreneur, one of the most valuable skills we can develop is leadership. Growing as a leader can be incredibly difficult when we have so much going on around us that is demanding our time, effort, energy, and focus. One of the fastest shortcuts to blocking out the noise and focusing on growing as a leader is nervous-system regulation. In this podcast, I discuss how cold plunging has radically increased my capacity to lead my team. I was introduced to cold plunging by a friend who is a healer and breathwork instructor, Shane Saunders. I started cold plunging after several months of hesitation and gradually increased the time they spent in cold water from 10 seconds to a minute and a half, with a noticeable decrease in bodily tension. Through this consistent practice, my presence and awareness with my team has increased, and microdosing on the fear of death has increased my capacity to lead them well. Ready for more? 845 - Is 'How Do I Hire a COO?" the Right Question For You?
14:52In order to grow as an entrepreneur, you must go from doing everything in your business to having help and support. Especially when it comes to the day-to-day operations of the business. This process of transitioning is not just a single hire; it requires a methodical and systematic approach to permanently delegate tasks. In most cases, bringing in a high-level executive is not necessary for early-stage companies. Instead, hiring an assistant or someone who is operationally minded to document the day-to-day tasks and to delegate them methodically is the best place to start. In this podcast, I outline a process for bringing in operational help that starts with conducting a two-week time study, creating a list of tasks that can be offloaded, documenting the processes, improving them, and handing them off to the assistant. By following this process, you will feel like you have more time and more confidence in the process of delegation. Delegating tasks through this process is way more effective than trying to find someone who will fix everything in one go.
844 - The Most Important Optimization Practice
17:42Hydration is the most important habit to stay engaged, have more energy, clarity of mind, eliminate brain fog, body pain, improve digestion and sleep better. On the flip-side, dehydration is damaging and affects everything we want to do as entrepreneurs and as people. It can cause inflammation, joint pain, back pain, neck pain, brain fog, confusion, frustration, anxiety, depression, irritation, and anger. A staggering 70 to 85% or more of people in the Western world walk around with low grade or severe dehydration. It’s no wonder entrepreneurs say that they are stressed and that they are feeling the effects of it in their body and business. When you are fully hydrated, you will have a level of presence and awareness that simply isn’t possible otherwise. Our physiology needs water, and yours might be begging for more than you are currently giving it. Being fully engaged, present, and having all of our faculties is crucial to succeed as entrepreneurs, and mild dehydration can cause a cascade of effects in the human body that affect our ability to perform at our best in our lives and in our businesses.
843 - How I Learned to Love Meetings
12:14Visionary entrepreneurs have a hard time with meetings. Most visionary entrepreneurs have a difficult time with meetings because they tend to get distracted and lose focus easily. They may start fidgeting or thinking about other things they could be doing, which can make it challenging for them to stay engaged in meetings. Instead, we recommend that entrepreneurs shift from meetings to targeted interactions.A targeted interaction is a meeting that has a clear intention, outcome, process, and time frame. Everyone in the meeting knows what they are supposed to accomplish and how long the meeting will take. This can help keep people focused and engaged during the meeting. Targeted interactions make meetings easier to tolerate: By having clear intentions, outcomes, processes, and time frames for meetings, targeted interactions can help make meetings more productive and enjoyable. While it may take some time to get used to this approach, over time, targeted interactions can become easier to tolerate and even enjoyable for those who struggle with traditional meetings.
842 - Are You Trapped By Your Ego?
12:32As an entrepreneur leading a team, it's common to feel overwhelmed with a never-ending to-do list and a sense of dread about each day's tasks. You might even experience what I call the "quitting fantasy," where you consider shutting down your business and doing something else. However, as entrepreneurs, we have a drive and compulsion to be in momentum and make things happen, so we rarely quit for good. The reason for feeling trapped in this way might be due to our ego. We tend to hold everything in and not ask for help, even when we need it. This is because our ego, which is there to protect us, can sometimes overprotect us and prevent us from being vulnerable with those around us. As a result, we don't get the help we need, which leads to overwhelm and the quitting fantasy. In this podcast, I will teach you how to overcome this. we need to step into vulnerability and be transparent with our team, friends, and family about how we're feeling and what we need help with.
841 - Momentum From Stillness
15:57The concept of Momentum from Stillness was first introduced to me by one of my coaches, Kylie Ryan, a few years ago. Initially, I was repelled by the idea of Momentum from Stillness because I thought it meant I needed to slow down, stop doing things, and stand still. This made me feel uncomfortable and restless, but I've since learned that I was misinterpreting the message. There is an overwhelming amount of messaging in the entrepreneurial space that tells us to hustle, grind, and push through things. We need to understand that there's another side to the grind, and we're seeing the symptoms of what happens when we just stay in this mindset of hustle and grind. It's not about stopping and standing still, but it's about taking time to understand what's really going on and contemplating our next move. It's about taking a breath and finding a new perspective. It's about finding momentum in the stillness.
