Ep 75 - Salou Abú
1:00:55It’s finally happened. After talking about it in nearly every episode since the podcasts inception, Kevin and PJ have grabbed their sunnies and speedos and have made their way to stunning Salou. An entire episode dedicated to the iconic Spanish location. They discuss the chaos at the airport with all the feral kids on their flight, being the biggest gays Salou ever did see and Kevin gives his top Spanish phrases you need to know if you’re queer and heading away on a holiday.Access bonus podcasts and additional video footage by subscribing to our Patreon: www.patreon.com/imgrandmam See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ep 74 - Check Your Tits Babe
59:34This weeks episode very nearly didn’t happen as Kevin’s voice is virtually non-existent having attended a Britney-themed night out at the weekend and then having taught two spin classes back to back the next morning but being the professional he is, he soldiers on. They talk about the latest addition to PJ’s tattoo collection and wish a happy birthday to a special man in their lives. They then speak to their friend Lauren Mahon (IG: @Iamlaurenmahon) otherwise known as GirlVsCancer and talk about her inspiring story of building a community of support and raising thousands of pounds for charity following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2016. They talk about her work on the BBC podcast You, Me and The Big C, discuss what exactly it means to be a boss babe, PJ’s addiction to trying to normalise everything and the weird half-voice Irish mams do when they don’t want everyone to hear them.Sign up for a Coppafeel Free Boob Check Reminder Text: https://coppafeel.org/remind-me/remind-me-sms/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ep 73 - Cruising For A Bruising
1:01:25The boys are feeling rested and refreshed as PJ spent the week with the boyf in Dublin and Kevin had the gaff to himself so he was in his element. They talk about the fact that Rihanna has become a billionaire which means that if we’re to eat the rich then we’re going to have to hide her down in West Cork somewhere as she’s one of the good ones. The theme for this week is fights and feuds even though Kevin couldn’t punch his way out of a paper bag. They recall physical altercations they’ve had in the past, discuss iconic celebrity fall-outs and name people they reckon they could take in a fight (so Niall Horan watch out babe). Episode 72 - No Place Like Homo
1:02:23The lads are still recovering from their first night out on the tiles and are only itching to tell you all about it. They talk about all the rides in the Olympics and Joe Wicks being the ultimate himbo. They then chat to the living legend and Gaff Goddess herself, Laura de Barra. From her helpful home hack videos to the success of her best-selling book, Laura details how she became the queen of She-IY™. She also tells us to detract attention from walls that are pure purple and manky when you’re renting.Click here to pre-order Laura’s new book Décor Galore: https://lnk.bio/Kqo6 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ep 71 - Ten A's Twomey
58:38The episode starts off with Kevin taking the piss out of PJ for purchasing a rose gold fan because PJ has always been so vocal about the fact that he despises anything in that colour. And because Kevin’s hairdryer blew up just before the record they put out an appeal to Dyson to send them a fan and new hairdryer. Pretty please?Confessions are back due to popular demand and of course they’re as chaotic as ever. From faking Leaving Cert results to a stunning life hack on how to quickly get rid of a tricky number two, the girlies do not disappoint with their disclosures. Also find out Kevin’s nickname that he swears he didn’t come up with himself in school. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ep 70 - Baby On Board
1:11:05The lease on the lads’ gaff is nearly up and they’re contemplating moving elsewhere but Kevin has grown too attached to having a bedroom on the ground floor and reckons he would fare well in a bungalow. They also discuss a wedding they’re both due to attend and because Kevin won't know anyone there he's planning to adopt a different persona for the duration of the event. They then have a chat about starting a family as a queer person and speak with Ranae von Meding (IG: @ranaevonmeding), the CEO and co-founder of Equality For Children, an organisation who are doing stunning work fighting for the rights of children of LGBTQ+ families.ResourcesEquality for ChildrenWebsite: https://equalityforchildren.ieIG: @equalityforchildrenSome Families PodcastSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2V1wyqzWMA1obU90Z85dkp?si=bobmE3lNTZivwyjkplsElw&dl_branch=1SeahorseWebsite: https://seahorsefilm.com/watch See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ep 69 - Up The Rasa
59:23The lads starts off by issuing a public apology to their fave Roy Keane after Kevin’s brother informed them that he did not in fact throw a boot at Mick McCarthy. Mortified. The pair then discuss a theme that’s a combination of two of their favourite things; summer and camp - summer camp! They discuss their experiences of summer camps in their youth, the struggle to make friends whilst there, teaching kids at camps and the iconic Irish drink known simply as Rasa. Ep 68 - Cirque Du So Gay
59:49The boys have one question and one question only; when are the Euros over? They can’t stand all the football lads being loud and causing a raucous but are both in agreement that Roy Keane is a ride. Prompted by having the word ‘gay’ shouted at them this week by a stranger and because Pride month has just come to a close they talk about the importance of being proud 365 days a year and being visibly and unashamedly queer and all the work that is still left to be done to make the world a better place for the LGBTQ+ community. Ep 67 - Two Pumps for JLo
1:02:23It’s been a week of makeovers girlies and the lads are only itching to tell all about their new looks. It appears the new aesthetics have been perfectly timed as Kevin and PJ also reveal that they’ve landed a new tv gig talking all things Love Island on The 6 O’ Clock Show and they are absolutely weak for themselves but are up in a heap because they’ve no nice clothes. Excitement aside, they turn their attention to conspiracy theories but in true I’m Grand Mam style it’s a bit of a struggle as they can’t wrap their heads around some of the more difficult concepts (still don’t have a clue what the Mandela Effect is). They also talk about The Illuminati, Shakespeare being a pure snake, celebs ordering kids on their pizza and Avril Lavigne dying a death. They also talk about some of their own conspiracy theories and share their plans of starting a new versh of the Feis Maitiú competition. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ep 66 - Serial Filler
1:03:45Most of the catch-up this week consists of PJ dragging Kevin for his choice of shirt which is completely deserved as it is quite tragic and reeks of a nan. Kevin also details a recent near death experience on his bike which left him completely traumatised because he feared he’d die with helmet hair. The lads then turn their attention to the world of plastic surgery and body augmentation. They talk about bits they’d like to have done, the chaotic noughties TV show 'The Swan' and also read out some body-mod submissions made by listeners who share the good, the bad and the completely chaotic.
