Joy is holding you open for everything that's meant for you.

In Luke (9:23), Jesus says, " If any of you want to be my followers, you must forget about yourself. You must take up your cross every day and follow me."  When you remember Love,  yourself is forgotten.  For that instant,  you are beyond the body,  beyond the story,  beyond the world,  being Love.  No narration,  no history, no future, no language, nothing. See how much freer you are when you are no thing? When you're no one? We're all trying to be somebody. Trying to make a name, when the only way to make a name is to take His.  To forget yourself, to become nothing. Rumi says, "then He makes you everything." What do you hear when thinking stops? When wanting stops?  Ask yourself that question and linger in the silence behind the question.  Who am I when I want nothing?  ... Before I went to India, I was told in a very Divine way by someone sent to me, to come there with an empty heart, and an empty mind, not wanting anything, not desiring anything, not craving anything, not seeking solutions or answers, not seeking anything, not expecting anything at all. And I felt it. I heard that message so clearly. And of course, the mind came up and I said, "Well, how do I do that? How do I go about doing that?" And he said, "just Love God." The Loving replaces the wanting. It eclipses it. You just keep quiet. You go where there are not words,  and you find the Love (t)here,  and you place your attention (t)here. The wanting may still be (t)here, but your attention is on the Loving, it's on the having.  He said, "You come like that, you come empty and open,  and you'll get everything you want. Allowing one breath to pour into the other, hold the breath at the top of the inhale,  and feel the body.  Notice what's (t)here to notice.  Exhale down into the body,  dancing Silence.  I'm calm right now because you're calm. I feel Love right now because you're feeling Love. You're hearing thoughts that say, "I'm not feeling It", or "this can't be It". But those thoughts aren't true. None of them are. Not even the one that says, 'I am feeling Love'. You see through that one, too,   you breathe through that one, too. Who's getting on your nerves lately? What was your last interaction with them like? Feel back into your body posture. How were you standing? How were you sitting? Where were you clenching? What emotion were you holding, tightly? I know it felt like that emotion had a hold on you, but it's always the other way around. Just as these thoughts that are not yours are always flowing through, and you're grasping at them, holding them, believing them, claiming them as who and what you are-- that emotion was just flowing through too.  With much practice, I found that I'm able to wake up in those moments of tightness, and just feel, just be with the tightness, without labeling it, without judging it, without giving it a cause, or trying to remedy it, trying to quell it. Sometimes I close my eyes on the interaction for a second, just to be with the feeling. The interaction is only happening so that you may feel that feeling finally and ask, "Is Love here, too? And feel That. Feel what's just beyond that strong, seemingly negative emotion. I feel My refuge. Realize I'm talking about very mild forms of disharmony. There are obviously nightmares that won't be dissipated by a shift of perspective. But being empty may still be the sanest and safest (because fearless) stance to take in such a situation. Some time ago I read about the experience of a Tibetan monk who was tortured horrendously over a period of years in a Chinese jail.
