Live Lockdown Podcast - Ep 32 - Easter Special with Matty Miller

Another instalment of our new brand Dundee Social Club, back at Temple Lan Bar. A great night where we again had a chance to move through the musical genres to an appreciative crowd. Look out for our next night which is a DDE warm up with special guest Tom Simpson (former Snow Patrol). Tom is another DJ who wore the Dark Blue of Dundee Social Club back in the day.

Dundee Social Club is a new night from Dundee duo Billy Morris and Matty Miller. After chatting at a party, they decided to come together and create this new brand in order to play out their shared love of old skool, 80s groovers, funk, soul, house and just about everything in-between. The name comes from a football team that they both played in together for from the age of 9. They are playing in Dundee, it's a social activity and they play in clubs, so it kinda made sense. The new night has been going from strength to strength, playing in bars and events around town. This was our debut in Temple Lane Bar, which went so well they've asked us to be monthly residents. This is part 2 from that night, starting off early with a chilled vibe, some funk and soul and a sprinkling of Prince, leading up to some old skool classics and the odd guilty pleasure. So I've had a wee break DJing back in the real world and been a little bit too busy to do a stream. I had a gig cancelled this week so thought what better time to do another podcast. So, we're back here yet again. After all the lockdowns, restrictions, vaccines and boosters we're back to a festive lockdown. My night Dare! has been cancelled along with 6 of my gigs over Christmas and New Year. So what can we do now? We're back. After a full year of live streams I needed a wee break to recharge the batteries but it's time to get back into it. The theme of this weeks show was 'summer vibes' and the most request song in the group page was Club Tropicana, hence the opening edit. Going forward I'll stick to once a month, especially now pubs etc are opening and see how it goes. I've missed you all, even the belters, especially the belters
