Birds Dogs Keep Us Humble with Final Rise and Gun Dog Grind

On this weeks episode we are joined by a couple of repeat guests to Sharptail Camp. Bob and Scottie were up here last year also and we break down how last season compares to this season. We also talk about their friendship and hunting trips planned for the rest of the season.

This week I am joined by Matt Davis from Final Rise and Jake and Nick from Gun Dog Grind. We chat about some of our highs and lows from a few days of hunting. Tough bird numbers. Elk Hunting and how it compares to Turkey Hunting and much more!

Lars Anderson from Crispi USA and his buddies were kind enough to invite me along on their trip to Montana for the opener for Sharptails and Huns. We had a great time even though the bird numbers werent what we had hoped for. We talk about our hunt and the new Upland Pro boots from Crispi USA, which were a passion project for Lars.

Joe Palmer is the Owner of Bird Hunter Supply Company. He joins us on the podcast to talk about how and why he started his business. We also talk about hunting in his home state of Idaho, his dogs, and more!

Wess and George join me to chat about the Waterfowl Production Areas right here in our neighborhood that are being drained by oil companies to frac their wells. After contacting the Game and fish and the state water commission we decided this was a matter that the hunting public should know about.

Hank Shaw is one of the most interesting people I know. Hes a hunter, fisherman, forager, oh yeah.... and a hell of a cook!  While I was in Minneapolis we met up for a few drinks and a podcast about his new book, Borderlands: Recipes and Stories from the Rio Grande to the Pacific. We also talk about our time up in Alaska a few years ago and have some laughs.
