Happy New Year! To kick off the start of 2025, Katie and Liz take you all the way back to 19th century Vermont, where they talk about the often unheard of tale of murderer Emeline Meaker. A woman described as being cruel and deeply embittered, Emeline was less than thrilled when her husband agreed to take in a young family member, and after a year of physically abusing her, decided to end her life. She partnered with her son, 20-year-old Lewis A. Meaker, and together plotted to take out a little girl simply for existing. Unfortunately for them, their guilt was discovered and Emeline was hanged in March of 1883.
