Christopher Fosmer - Child Abuse case - Police Interrogation
QUEENSBURY — Upset that his girlfriend's 3-month-old infant would not stop crying, a South Glens Falls man fractured both the child's collarbones this past weekend, Warren County sheriff's deputies said.
The boy suffered the injuries around 9 p.m. Sunday after Christopher Fosmer, who was looking after the child by himself, grabbed and squeezed the boy, Lt. Steven Stockdale said.
"He was very frustrated and went through a variety of things when the boy would not stop crying," Stockdale said of Fosmer.
Fosmer is dating the child's mother but is not the boy's father, the lieutenant said. The mother had gone out for the night and left Fosmer to look after the boy, Stockdale said.
At 10 p.m., a relative came home and, after finding the child injured, took the boy to Glens Falls Hospital, Stockdale said. The hospital contacted the state's child abuse hot line and police.
Fosmer, 23, of New Street, was charged with felony assault and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and sent to Warren County jail after failing to post $20,000 bail.
The infant was released from Glens Falls Hospital and placed in temporary custody of social services.
