Ash and Kane talk about attending the 2024 podcast show in this episode. They discuss their favourite stands and share what the event organisers did well but also what they think they could improve on for next year.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Last year everything was geared towards corporates and it wasn’t great for small creators, this has improved but there's still a long way to go and the show needs more variety.
- Spotify yet again had a large stand but it was exclusive, it was effectively a paid-for meeting space.
- There were many podcast agency stands which don’t offer much variety, they weren’t trying to do anything unique.
- If you attend next year, make sure you challenge the people on the stands before you do business with them.
- Kane enjoyed doing his talk, but the rooms were smaller than last year and he got told off for swearing!
- The podcast show can be good for networking but if it is something that isn’t easy or cheap for you to attend it probably isn’t worth it as a small creator.
- There is still a disconnect between the people attending the event and most of the stands and speakers.
