He directed a group of armed enforcers responsible for protecting the cartel's operations and engaging in violent acts to intimidate and eliminate rivals and law enforcement officials.Pérez Salas was arrested in Culiacán, Mexico, on November 22, 2023, and extradited to the United States on May 25, 2024. He faces charges in two U.S. jurisdictions. In the District of Columbia, he is charged with importing cocaine and methamphetamine, firearms offenses, and conspiracy to obstruct justice through murder.
