Phil Roberts was England’s Strongest Man in 2017. Behind the success was a trainwreck of womanising, violence, cocaine, and more. He describes the day in front of 10,000 in competition when he dropped a 160kg Atlas stone on his knee as the best and most painful of his life. Encountering Jesus began dramatically with a demon coming out of him, but his discipleship journey has been a long one, working through the different areas of brokenness in his life. Now he runs the Station Gym in Sheffield, and many people have come to Jesus through Phil and his team taking the church to the gym. Ahmed Joktan had memorized the Qur’an by heart. Yet through an extraordinary succession of dreams and divine appointments, he became a follower of Jesus. When he shared his faith with a fellow Saudi, the religious police burst in and immediately came and knocked thirteen teeth out of his mouth. Imprisonment, torture, attempts on his life, all meant he had to flee from the land of his birth.
