28 November 2021 - First Sunday of Advent - During this first week of Advent, the beginning of the Church's liturgical year, Rev. Aaron Eime turns our focus towards the return of the Messiah. The coming of the Lord brings both redemption and judgment, a time when everything hidden in darkness will be revealed by the light of God. Jesus and the prophets depict a world in chaos at the end of time, and the Day of Lord can look terrifying for some but be an obsession for others. Jesus admonishes us to not be burdened by fear nor weighted down by the anxieties of the world. Instead, we are encouraged to have a posture of hope and confidence.
