In this episode, Cate and Erik sit down to discuss the nuances of experience pain with ADHD- chronic, injury and self-inflicted. They talk about the effect of pain on ADHD and how ADHD's common manifestations (executive dysfunction, time perception, dopamine deficiency, lack of stimulus) can lead to a very different relationship with pain. Another study published in the Journal of Pain Research found that ADHD was more prevalent in patients with chronic pain. Additionally, a study published in PLOS One found that children and adolescents with chronic pain were more likely to have neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD.
