On September 12, 2014, three-year-old William Tyrrell disappeared while playing at his foster grandmother’s home on Benaroon Drive in Kendall, New South Wales, Australia.
Within hours, an enormous search was underway. Police, emergency services, and members of the community combed the surrounding bushland, creeks, roads, and properties looking for the little boy. But William was nowhere to be found.
In Part One of this series, we go back to the beginning. We examine William’s life before his disappearance, the events of that morning, the frantic search that followed, and the earliest stages of an investigation that would become one of Australia’s most well-known missing child cases.
Anyone with information about William’s disappearance, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is urged to contact NSW Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously.
