Sal launched into a fiery monologue defending Juan Soto, arguing that it's absurd for anyone to criticize his performance, especially given his MVP-caliber numbers and how he's been the one consistent bright spot for the Mets. He points out that the real issue is the Mets' woefully thin and unreliable pitching staff, which is so bad he can't even piece together a rotation for the final stretch of the season. To add insult to injury, Sal ranted about the state of baseball, bewildered by how a gimmicky, circus-like team like the Savannah Bananas can sell out Yankee Stadium at exorbitant prices while making a mockery of the sport he loves.
