To Live Remarkable | The WISDOM podcast | S3 E70

  Asana ~ The Seat of Stillness ~ exploring the third yoga sutra ~   The WISDOM podcast  Season 3  Episode 92   “Be still and find your infinity.” 💜   Patanjali’s description of asana does not refer to any particular yoga postures rather the ability to hold the body motionlessly still in preparation for and sitting in long periods in, deep meditation.   If the body is restless, then the mind will also become restless. Therefore, in order to ensure that the mind becomes still and quiet, the body needs to be trained, to make it steady with ease and comfort.   ‘Posture is mastered by freeing the body and mind from tension and restlessness and meditating on the infinite.'  When posture is mastered one is undisturbed by the pairs of opposites (dualities).   Here I guide us in a practice of Asana with stillness for 5 minutes.   As we do so, allow your breath to be the only subtle movement that is naturally occurring with the rise and fall of the chest.  This is how you prepare for the higher spiritual practices of concentration (dharana),  meditation (dhyana) and bliss (samadhi).   Q: Where in your life can you cultivate stillness (or more stillness)? We can almost never know every physical aspect that is occurring in synchronous harmony. We can know the purest aspects of what we are and then to deliberately hold our gratitude towards this.   I will also encourage you to make some notes after the meditation. spiritual discipline as a daily practice ~ towards personal fulfillment ~   'ask dorothy' The WISDOM podcast  Season 3  Episode 87   ~ What are your spiritual practices? ~ 💜   A topic dear to my heart. The idea of developing and living daily spiritual practices or disciplines is how we deepen our commitment to live of our highest self and of our light. This episode has been inspired by a recent live session. You can find and join me in future 'live' sessions.  I would love that.   Spiritual discipline is the embodiment of grace and the resolve to live in loving-kindness in words, thoughts, and in actions ~ in who you are and what you stand for.   A spiritual practice or discipline is a product of a synergy between divine and human initiative.   It is the regular actions and activities for the purpose of inducing or creating spiritual experiences and cultivating spiritual development.   This episode is therefore really meant to offer inspiration to you, to encourage you to follow a path that inspires you because inspiration is the flow of pure consciousness that you invite in ~ that you relish ~ that truly affects and transforms ~ that initiates the desire to witness the sacred, the spiritual the world beyond what you would typically see and touch and notice because this is how we come to know the perfection of life that we can live in each moment and wherever we are.   One question towards beginning or elevating your current spiritual life is this: Ask yourself... What are the spiritual practices (or disciplines) that cultivate love, presence and equanimity for you?   Your answers will lead you to the joy and the abundance is waiting for you. Invite this in. Self-Discipline as Self-Mastery The WISDOM podcast  Season 3  Episode 86    “ Self-Discipline IS Self-Mastery.  Being disciplined is how we get things done. ” 💜   Do any of your desires require greater discipline, self-control, or the fierce passion and unrelenting belief in what is wanted?   We need to remember ~ to remind ourselves that self-discipline is also a guiding approach to everything.   It is holding belief in our ability to manifest ~ to obtain or achieve something that we do not yet see or taste or touch in our material world and it is also the energy we bring to everything that determines our role in what we do and what we live.   If you are at the edge of a precipice in your life – if something is wanted and perhaps you’ve been struggling with this, whether a goal or a new habit or a different way of thinking and being and if you haven’t yet been able to get there, let’s walk through some of the ways that you can approach your desires with the inner fire of discipline.   And I’m also going to share one simple and powerful way that will help you get started ~ now.   But first....a few more questions to help you contemplate what is wanted in a very clear way.   What can you draw from that allows you to feel impassioned with life and with the aspects of your life that you wish to focus upon?   Where can you hold fierce discipline and simultaneously the benevolence (a devotion to do good and to be loving kindness) of living with your heart open to give and receive?     ~ Tapas are spiritual practices that often involve a high degree of self-discipline, solitude and periods of deep meditation. ~   Because discipline works best if you are kind and patient yet firm and loving with yourself throughout the process.   What becomes for you a new and refined practice of discipline may be best practised as a spiritual discipline ~ as something that is acquired out of love and servitude to yourself for a higher goal or purpose that is beyond you ~ that is bigger than you... and the way in which you can approach all of life then becomes a practice of grace.     ~ Journey with me.... Perfection As What You Are . . . 'ask dorothy' The WISDOM podcast  Season 3  Episode 83   “ Perfection is not something I attain.  It is what I remember.  It is what I am already." ~ dorothy zennuriye juno 💜   My 'ask dorothy' episodes are an opportunity to answer your questions, to share client stories and the wisdom that enlightens our work together. It's also a place for me to offer insight and guidance for your journey through life.   In this episode of 'ask dorothy' I share a WISDOM Note.     It's to help you consider the way in which you currently think about the idea of perfection and to embrace the teaching that we are all perfect as spiritual beings.   The more we live aligned with this wisdom, the more we realize our goodness and our greatness lives in the purity of what we are.  As physical beings, we can live our perfection as our infinite abundance, as love, as kindness, as generosity and compassion ~ and seeking to find the best and right solutions as comfort in knowing ourselves best and following a path that we feel inspired to live ~ all towards the appreciation of life that we hold.   I hope that in listening, you begin to see and know just how perfect life is as it is ~ even if we do not at first glance think so.  The nature of perfection is that we trust in it first and then it reveals itself so beautifully.
