Marink Reedijk on Football and Phenomenology
1:08:44Dr Mike Castle interviewed his close friend Dr Marink Reedijk (Anderlecht Football Futures Head Coach). Marink and Mike relived some of their shared experiences as Doctorate in Sport Coaching students. Marink shared his views about how theory has been informing his coaching practice, everyday coaching challenges, problem solving activities in coaching and the value of mistakes in learning. Also, they discussed the findings in Marink’s thesis, and how a phenomenological approach supported Marink to explore the essence of football coaching. The Narratives of Female Tennis Coaches with Ellen Jones and Ellie Lewis

Christian is the director of the SC Hub at Cardiff Met and the director of Football and Emlyn is a Lecturer in Sport Coaching at Cardiff Met. The interview revolved around Christian’s 2018 article, focused the use of humor in SC. During the episode, Christian explained how he sees humor as a sociological tool, and broke down the concept of ‘inclusionary putdowns’ while sharing some fun stories. WRU Women in High Performance Programme with Dr. Sofia Santos and Catrina Nicholas-McLaughlin

An Interview with Professor Robyn Jones

In this conversation, Robyn was kind enough to share some personal stories while looking at the field of Sport Coaching with his distinguishing critical gaze.
