Hello to you listening in Barrigada Village, Guam!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Interestingly, the word passion finds its root in both the Latin word passiō and the Greek word pathos, which both mean “suffering” suggesting that the things we care most about come from a place of suffering rather than joy.

Today, passion means having very strong feelings about or a strong belief in something that moves you to action. Have we lost the notion of suffering?

Not really. While the intent of the word has been diluted consider that being passionate is engaging in an intense desire to go toward your dreams. When you are truly passionate, you are motivated such that you are willing to endure pain and suffering to achieve your goals.

Passion is what drives us. It helps us build our purpose and goals, our knowledge and capability. When we are deeply  passionate our excitement attracts other people, as in this example: “If you catch fire with enthusiasm people will come from miles around to watch you burn. Now THAT’s being passionate!”

Question: What goal or dream might have the potential to set you on fire with enthusiasm and passion?

You’re always invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, would you subscribe, share a 5-star rating + nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!
