Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder spoke about their security plans Wednesday. "Each and every day, Nassau County, as well as other communities and cities and counties and towns throughout the United States, receive all kinds of threats. The bodies of Jilian Kelley and Veronica Butler were discovered in a chest freezer buried in a cow pasture, according to the documents. Butler and Kelley were traveling to a supervised visit between Butler and her children. Kelley was to be a court-ordered monitor during the visit. The kids were staying with their grandmother, Tifany Adams, who is one of five people being held on first-degree murder charges. Authorities believe the killings stem from a bitter custody fight between Kelley and Adams, the mother of the children’s father. Kohberger defense asks for phone evidence hoping to support alibi The documents say Adams had plotted to kill Butler for at least a month and had even staked out Butler’s home in Hugoton, Kansas. Also revealed was the fact the victims’ phones were discovered in a pickup truck owned by Cole Twombly, another of the suspects in the deaths. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation revealed in new court records that a chest freezer was found during the excavation and opened. Inside were the bodies of Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley, who had been missing since March 30. The OSBI also revealed in the new court records that "personal items" were located in the hole after the bodies were removed. "These items did not belong to Butler or Kelley," an OSBI agent wrote.
