Jack P. Wheeler III was a well respected government worker. He retired in the mid 2000s after working some very high profile positions. But then, in retirement, he didn’t fully retire, working as a defense contractor for the Mitre Corporation.  While living between Delaware and DC, Jack and his wife spent the holidays in NYC, but before the New Year, Jack returned to work doing some last minute things.  Sadly though, Jack was found dead in a landfill. His case is still unsolved.  Join Margot as she discusses Jack P. In 2001, when PFC Amanda Gonzalez was found dead in her barracks room on Fliegerhorst Kaserne - she was 4 and a half months pregnant with a baby girl. There were a few rumors about the possible suspect, but Amanda’s case remained cold for decades, despite a reward of up to $125,000 for information leading to an arrest. And then, in 2023, there was an arrest and while the arrest surprised many, the suspect was in law enforcement’s purview from the very beginning, they were just waiting for DNA technology to improve.  Join Margot as she discusses Amanda Gonzalez’s cold case and the 2023 arrest of Army veteran Shannon Wilkerson, who was subsequently charged with her murder. Wilkerson’s federal trial is scheduled to begin on April 8, 2024. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  ——- Ways to support your favorite podcast: Join My Patreon Family!
