The Angels called up their top pick from the 2023 draft. Good idea? Bad idea? Spilly talks about what you look for when making such an aggressive decision. The Yankees are done and it's getting ugly in the Bronx, is an organizational philosophy to blame? If so, how do they fix it? 

In this episode CJ & Spilly address the issues in Tampa for the Rays. No Wander, no McClanahan, can they hold on? The guys wonder are pitchers chasing metrics and innovative new pitches leading to more injuries? The Cubs lose Stroman to an ominous injury but Spilly is still a believer. CJ goes on his annual "The Little League World Series is a Sham" rant. Spilly said Verlander would be better than Scherzer after they both got traded from the Mets to Texas teams. He's ready to backtrack and has concerns about one specific element of Verlander's game. The Orioles suspended their excellent and well respected TV play-by-play voice Kevin Brown for...wait for it...stating facts the Orioles PR department included in their game notes. The White Sox have struggled on the field and worst kept secret in baseball is out, the White Sox have a clubhouse culture issue. 

In this episode CJ and Spilly break down all the teams in the NL Wild Card race. Who has a real chance? What does each team need to do to make the post season? It is going to be a WILD finish to the season in the National League. Shohei Ohtani shows emotion after a tough loss, the guys dig in to what might be going on with baseball's best player. 

In the episode CJ and Spilly talk Baltimore Orioles and wonder if their front office is up to the task. They also grade the Cardinals as sellers. The Yankees are in a brutal spot: buy, sell, hold are all reasonable options and the guys disagree on the right move.
