Organizational culture is the collective result of how people think and behave, the shared values, and reactions to internal and external stimuli. An organization's culture and its corresponding set of guiding principles (core values) will determine its resilience during a crisis.
Leaders and managers must lean on the organization's values to drive performance, especially during challenging times. An organization's values should be the bedrock of why the company exists, how behavioral norms are defined, and how decisions are made to achieve goals and objectives. They must be authentic and relatively specific to resonate with the organization's members.
