On the 20th day of Lori Vallow Daybell's trial, the prosecution rested its case after presenting extensive evidence over several weeks. Following this, Lori's defense team filed a motion for acquittal under Idaho Criminal Rule 29, arguing that the state had not sufficiently proven its case. Judge Steven Boyce denied this motion, allowing the trial to proceed. Subsequently, the defense chose not to present any witnesses, asserting their belief that the prosecution failed to meet its burden of proof. Lori Vallow Daybell confirmed to the judge that she would not testify on her own behalf. With both sides resting, the court scheduled closing arguments for May 11, 2023.
