Terry Smith kicks of Penn State recruiting Run Of course, it would be Smith who kicked off Penn State’s recruiting in 2027. The team’s former interim head coach kept his own momentum going as a recruiter, signing three cornerbacks to the roster for this coming recruiting cycle this week. We’ve discussed each of the commits on their own, but today, we’ll discuss Semajay Robinson, Zachary Gleason, and Ka’ron Cesaser as a group.  Is there more in store for Smith? We’ll discuss whether or not he’s done adding players to the upcoming class.  Next, we’ll pivot into discussing a high-profile player who is on campus today. Five-star quarterback Will Mencl is visiting the Penn State program and is one of the team’s top targets for this cycle. The Penn State football team is now deep into spring practice with four sessions under its belt and two more to go this week. Today on the BWI Live Show, we’re recapping the rest of what we learned yesterday after speaking to players and coaches after practice on Tuesday. The Penn State football team is now into its second week of spring practice. Earlier today, head coach Matt Campbell spoke to the media about how things have gone. The Penn State Nittany Lions football team held a rare open practice on Thursday morning, during which the media got a chance to see a full day of on-field activity on Lasch Football Field. The Penn State Nittany Lions football team opened up spring practice on Tuesday with a morning session, followed by new head coach Matt Campbell’s first comments to the media of the spring. Today, we’ll continue our recap of those comments, plus we’ll preview what we want to learn at the team’s open practice tomorrow.  Join the BWI Live Show today at 10 a.m. on YouTube to be part of the action! His stepson, Justin King, is already part of the team’s support staff, and now his nephew and former Penn State running back, Tank Smith, is joining the program as a recruiting coordinator assistant. Next, we’ll pivot to a discussion from yesterday’s conversation with Campbell. Tuesday was the first time since the team hired new wide receivers coach Kashif Moore that Campbell discussed his decision to hire the former UConn receiver and coach. We’ll recap his comments, plus expand on his outline of why his room has wide receiver rooms have been so successful over the years.  Practice Preview Next, we’ll discuss what we want to learn from the team’s open practice tomorrow. It’s a rare opportunity in the last 12 years that the media will get to attend a full open practice at Penn State, and we’re listing the items we want to check off our list for tomorrow on today’s show. Campbell spoke about the team’s availability report for the spring yesterday, so we’ll discuss the players we expect to see and the ones we don’t tomorrow. We’ll also discuss offensive and defensive coaches we want to watch work during the second practice of the season. The Penn State Nittany Lions Football team opened spring practice on Tuesday morning, followed by head coach Matt Campbell addressing the media for the first time during spring football. Today on the BWI Live Show, we’re discussing what Campbell said and previewing spring football for fans. We’ll also be opening the mailbag for fans to ask questions on the show!  Join us live for a special 2 pm show! As a programming note, the times of the BWI Live show will change for spring football and going forward, now that Penn State practices in the morning.
