DODGERS POSTCAST: Dodgers lose a tight one to the Rockies on a walk-off sac fly 7-6

Gavin Stone gets win number 9 in his first complete game shutout allowing just 4 hits while striking out 7. Dodgers finish off their sweep of the White Sox 4-0. Shohei Ohtani lead off the game with another home run his 3rd from the leadoff spot and 25th of the season. It was also his 10th consecutive game with an rbi which sets a Dodgers record.  

The Dodgers won on Tuesday in Chicago thanks to Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman and the bullpen. It was a good showing for all of them, but it was not a good showing for Bobby Miller. He once again struggled and went just two innings. Is there concern for Miller? Rough outing for Bobby Miller getting into trouble right away in the first giving up 3 which included a homer from Anthony Benintendi. Miller would be pulled in the 2nd after throwing 60 pitches. But the bullpen would come and take care of business shutting the White Sox down. A leadoff homer from Shohei Ohtani  got the scoring started, his 24th. Freddie Freeman would tie the game at 3 with an opposite field shot and Shohei Ohtani would come through again knocking in the game winner in the 4th.

The Dodgers won a game in which they started James Paxton against Garrett Crochet. A big shout out to Paxton for matching zeros with Crochet, and another shout out to the bottom of the Dodgers lineup for coming up with the necessary runs to win the game. Miguel Rojas pushed his streak to 23-0 for when the Dodgers win and he gets a hit. While the stat is a bit of a gimmick, he's also contributed to a handful of those wins. Miguel Vargas is playing well and has remained playing part-time against left-handed pitching. Are the Dodgers doing that for the team success or more for keeping Vargas' trade value high for the deadline? James Paxton hurled 5 solid innings allowing no runs on just 3 hits striking out 6. The bullpen would preserve the shutout throwing a total of 44 pitches over 4 innings. Miguel Rojas doubled to lead off the 7th. Kike Hernandez would knock him to break a scoreless tie. Kike would then score to double the lead on a throwing from a ground ball hit by Chris Taylor who had his 6th hit in 6 games.

The Dodgers split the two-game series with the Angels but Shohei Ohtani continues to rake in the leadoff spot as he hit two home runs over the weekend. Should the Dodgers consider keeping him there if he keeps that going? Also, the Dodgers bottom of the order had a really good week. While it's a good sign that things could be turning around, it also doesn't mean that the Dodgers shouldn't keep trying to upgrade. The Dodgers 7 solid innings from  Tyler Glasnow who allowed 2 runs on 2 hits striking out 10 for his 8th win. Gavin Lux got the scoring started with a home run in the 3rd followed by a bunt single from Cavan Biggio and then a home run from Shoheo Ohtnai his 23rd  made it 3-0. Dodgers cruise to victory 7-2 to split this 2 game series.

Shohei Ohtani hit 22nd home run of the season a 455ft blast with a man aboard to give the Dodgers a 2-0 advantage. LA got 5 really solid innings from Landon Knack allowing just 2 hits. But they pulled him and replaced him with Ryan Yarbrough who hit 3 Angels with pitches scoring the first run for the Angels. The Halos would tie the game in the 6th on a fielders choice and win it in the 10th on a Taylor Ward single 3-2

The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Rockies 5-3 on Thursday afternoon to complete the 3-1 series win in Colorado. They escaped without any issues, although Freddie Freeman needed oxygen in the 9th inning. Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, and Will Smith all homered, Teoscar Hernandez had three hits, and even Chris Taylor had two hits and two stolen bases. On the mound, Gavin Stone was dominant for five innings before running into a little trouble in the 6th. Shohei Ohtani lead off the game with his 21st HR. Will Smith homered in the 4th and Freddie Freeman went back to back to make it 5-0 the Bullpen would make it stand up for 5-3 win. Gavin Stone looked good for 5 innings striking out 7 things got a little shaky in the 6th but he would earn the win and he is now 8-2.
