On today’s episode, Stacie has the privilege of chatting with Lucy Hebberts. Lucy is Head of GINA, a Birmingham-based non-profit supporting individuals subjected to sexual violence & abuse, & she works for GINA’s sister charity, RSVP (The Rape & Sexual Violence Project) - Birmingham’s rape crisis charity. Lucy has also published research surrounding female sexualisation & objectification, & has recently been a Co-researcher on The PROSPER Study which explores voluntary sector specialist services for individuals subjected to sexual violence & abuse in England. Lucy has been working in the sector to end violence against women & girls since 2019. In this conversation, we have a unique perspective of talking from a service user perspective (Stacie) and from the service provider and advocate (Lucy). Thank you to all those who work relentlessly across the country within this sector - working hard to advocate for change and supporting survivors. As always, take care of yourself when listening - look after yourself first and foremost and what you need today. The podcast will be here when you are ready.
