One could say that Tron: Legacy (2010) is a polarizing film. If you were born at a certain time, it’s legendary Daft Punk score and slick visuals are probably pretty nostalgic for you. Closing out our spooky month, we’re taking a look at The Vast of Night (2019). A small town in New Mexico starts hearing some disturbances in the night, and two young teens investigate where they might be coming from. This week we’re exploring the often forgotten genre that is “Horror Movies for Children”. It was a short lived genre, and almost entirely killed by the advent of the PG-13 rating, but this week we dive into Gremlins (1984) and its wacky sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990). Gremlins is certainly responsible for traumatizing a generation of 80’s children whose parents thought it was a silly movie about a little furry animal.
