Send us Fan MailWhat can 20 years of Betfair trading teach you about what it really takes to become consistently profitable? In this episode, I reveal the biggest lesson I've learnt from two decades of trading on Betfair — and it's not about finding the perfect strategy, predicting football results or having the best betting tips. It's about learning to stop trying to predict what will happen and instead focus on data, probabilities, repeatable patterns and long-term expectation.I'll explain why individual winning and losing trades can be misleading, why sample size matters, the importance of forward testing, and why constantly changing your strategy after a losing run can be one of the biggest mistakes you make.I'll also discuss what I wish I could tell myself when I first started trading on Betfair and why developing a process for finding profitable strategies is ultimately more valuable than finding one strategy that works forever. If you're serious about Betfair trading, this is a lesson that could completely change the way you approach the markets. After 20 years, the biggest lesson is simple: don't try to predict the future — let the data tell you where the edge is.Support the showSign up here: https://checkout.lightspeedstats.com/lightspeed-stats-football-copy-2Twitter: @BetfairTCWebsite: https://betfairtradingcommunity.com/en/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/betfairtradingcommunity

Send us Fan MailWhich football statistics actually matter when you're trading on Betfair — and which ones are mostly noise? In this episode, we break down the football stats that can genuinely help a trader make better decisions, from xG and shots on target to pre-match odds, match state, goal expectancy and in-play pressure. We also look at some of the stats that traders often put too much emphasis on, including possession, league position, recent results and head-to-head records. Most importantly, we explain why a statistic isn't valuable simply because it correlates with an outcome. For a Betfair trader, the real question is whether that information can identify a difference between the true probability and the current market price. We'll look at:• The importance of Betfair's pre-match price• Why xG can be more useful than raw goals• Why shots on target are particularly valuable in-play• How minute and scoreline change the meaning of statistics• Which stats are useful for Over/Under 2.5 trading• Which stats matter for Match Odds trading• The difference between predictive statistics and profitable statistics• Why "no bet" is sometimes the best decision• How you could build a data-driven Betfair trading modelIf you want to use football statistics to find genuine trading opportunities rather than simply collect interesting numbers, this episode is for you.Support the showSign up here: https://checkout.lightspeedstats.com/lightspeed-stats-football-copy-2Twitter: @BetfairTCWebsite: https://betfairtradingcommunity.com/en/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/betfairtradingcommunity
