Join Katie and Liz on another installment of their case profile mini-episode series! This week, the girls discuss two very frustrating cases with little answers. First, Katie talks about the mysterious and horrible death of Lauren Smith Fields, a beautiful 23-year-old who was found dead by a Bumble date in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 2021. Then, Liz talks about the 2008 shooting death of security guard James Angelo, who was working at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine. Join Katie and Liz on this week’s episode of True Crime New England, where they talk about the very mysterious death of 53-year-old Denise Scott Ramsey out of Casco, Maine. Denise had last been heard from on December 26th, 2019 when she called her daughter to talk about the holidays. What ensued was a year and a half search for answers about the whereabouts of Denise. In May of 2021, two months after the death of her father, who she had been living with, Denise’s mummified skeletal remains were discovered in the boat shed on her father’s property. Despite concerns from her daughter and siblings, the police have seemingly stopped investigating her suspicious death because her father had died. On this week’s episode of True Crime New England, Katie and Liz discuss the life and crimes of serial child molester and potential murderer, Nathaniel Bar-Jonah. As a kid, Bar-Jonah began luring younger children into secluded places and molesting them, and eventually escalated to using his massive weight to attempt to suffocate the children. After being in a mental hospital for over eleven years, Bar-Jonah narrowly avoided more jail time by agreeing to move to Montana, where he continued to molest young boys. Bar-Jonah is suspected in the abduction of 10-year-old Zachary Ramsey, who has never been found, as well as the disappearances and murders of several other children. There is also disturbing evidence pointing towards cannibalism.

Can you believe there are already 60 installments of True Crime New England's mini-episode series? This week, Katie and Liz both discuss unsolved cases from Worcester, Massachusetts. First, Liz tells the details of the senseless murder of 26-year-old Eddie Wheeler, who was shot down in the streets on December 26th, 1998. Then, Katie talks about the troubling death of 27-year-old Nathan Otero in 2012, who was killed in an unlit area of Worcester. Join Katie and Liz on this week’s episode of True Crime New England, where they discuss the brutal murder of Barbara Gibbons, and the subsequent arrest and exoneration of her 18-year-old son, Peter Reilly. In September of 1973, Peter arrived home in the evening from a youth group meeting at a local church, only to discover his mother horribly slain in her bedroom. Due to his perceived lack of emotion, police immediately honed in on the teenager and subjected him to over 24 hours of intense interrogation, essentially confusing him enough to make a confession. However, after going through an entire trial in which he was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter, Peter had the community and even some celebrities rally around him and help fund an appeal, which eventually brought the charges against him to be dismissed. On this week’s episode of True Crime New England, join Katie and Liz as they discuss the mysterious disappearance of 14-year-old Laureen Rahn out of Manchester, New Hampshire. In late April of 1980, Laureen was hanging out with two friends in her apartment late at night while her mom was out with her boyfriend. When her mother got home early in the morning, she discovered the front door unlocked, the hallway lightbulbs unscrewed, and the back door wide open… with Laureen nowhere to be found. After almost 45 years, Laureen has not been seen or heard from since. Happy New Year! To kick off the start of 2025, Katie and Liz take you all the way back to 19th century Vermont, where they talk about the often unheard of tale of murderer Emeline Meaker. A woman described as being cruel and deeply embittered, Emeline was less than thrilled when her husband agreed to take in a young family member, and after a year of physically abusing her, decided to end her life. She partnered with her son, 20-year-old Lewis A. Meaker, and together plotted to take out a little girl simply for existing. Unfortunately for them, their guilt was discovered and Emeline was hanged in March of 1883.

On this week’s episode of True Crime New England, Katie and Liz discuss the infamous story of the Bonded Vault Heist out of Rhode Island. In August of 1975, eight men who were associated with the Patriarca crime family entered the Hudson Fur Storage facility in Providence and held five employees hostage as they stole roughly $30 million in cash, gold, and jewelry. It took only a few months before the entire operation was brought down when one member of the heist confessed to everything after police lied to him and told him his best friend was murdered. Tune in to hear the details of the operation and how the eight men met their fate. 

Join Katie and Liz on this week’s episode of True Crime New England as they touch upon the tragic and unfortunate murder of 26-year-old Kathy Frost, whose death involved being pushed off of an 80-foot-tall cliff in Acadia National Park. Unbeknownst to Kathy, she had married a man who had two marriages under his belt, one of which ended when his wife died of a suspicious drowning incident several years prior. It took several months of prying, but eventually Dennis Larson admitted to the cruel murder of his third wife before being sentenced to 50 years in jail for the crime.
